Role Responsibilities

  • Addresses internal and external requests/concerns related to Human Resources such as policies, practices and procedures and is the main point of contact for employee enquiries and provides guidance when appropriate
  • Collaborates with the HR team to develop strategies to identify areas of improvement
  • Works closely with management and employees to improve work relationships and build morale to increase employee retention
  • Liaise with managers on hiring requirements and assists with drafting and updating job descriptions and postings
  • Assists with full cycle recruitment - candidate sourcing, advertising, conduct pre-screen phone interviews, face-to-face interviews, reference checks and exit interviews. Consulting with Management on promotions and transfers.
  • Assists with the new hire orientation process to ensure onboarding processes are well-organized and efficient and provides an optimal employee/manager experience
  • Point of contact for disability, leaves and benefit administration
  • Provides day-to-day performance management guidance to management including becoming the subject matter expert of Performance Management in ADP - WFN
  • Maintains in-depth knowledge of day-to-day management of employees, reducing legal risks and ensuring regulatory compliance
  • Conducts thorough and objective investigations to manage and resolve complex employee relation issues
  • Perform administration processing and approval of transactions, data input and verification of required documentation; ensure timely and accurate data entry and correction of HR transactions into systems, while working closely with Payroll
  • Maintain employee files and related documents, in addition to managing all HR-specific documents; ensure all documents related to the employee are accurately completed, filed, and disposed of according to legislation
  • Develop HR solutions by collecting and analyzing trends and metrics, recommending course of action to Management
  • Perform other duties and tasks as required

Experience and Skills

  • Completion of a University degree in the field of Human Resources/Business or related area
  • 5 - 7 years of progressive HR experience in a mid-sized corporate environment
  • Experience working in a highly confidential role requiring a high level of professionalism
  • Knowledge of Provincial and Canadian Employment Law and Human Rights legislations
  • HRIS and Applicant Tracking Systems experience, ADP Workforce Now an asset
  • CHRP designation or pursuing CHRP designation is an asset
  • Advance level of Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel, experience with Adobe PDF an asset
  • Successful completion of a Criminal Background check will be required
